Motivated Reasoning by Partisanship
The y-axis measures motivated reasoning. Bayesians would set P(True), Demeaned = 0 for all news types.
This graph shows that motivated reasoning occurs in both over-trusting "Pro-Party" news and under-trusting "Anti-Party" news compared to a neutral benchmark, and that political partisans exhibit more severe politically-motivated reasoning.
Error bars indicate 95% confidence intervals.
